6th Annual Hilo Chinese New Year Festival
Lion Dancers offer blessing around Downtown Hilo and parade up to Kalakuau Park to open the Festival. Asian arts, crafts, products, and food is for sale in the park. Performances, cooking and cultural demonstrations, and displays celebrate the Year of the Rat. Performances by the Phoenix Dance company and Guang Zhong Chinese music ensemble from Oahu, the Kobudo Taiko troupe and the Shalin Arts.

Parade begins at Kress Building at 9am and festival opens with 1000s of firecrackers at 10am
