Hilo Living

Our Life on the Big Island of Hawaii

We moved to Hilo, Hawaii from Silicon Valley and now we have an wonderful life here on the beautiful island of Hawaii in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. Every day we find more to love about Hilo, Hawaii.

Hilo Living Log is a photo log of our life in Hilo.

It was a beautiful day in Hilo today, incredibly clear. So we filmed the drive down Banyon drive, past Reeds Bay with an NCL cruise ship in dock, past the Bay front condos and Hilo hotels and all the named Banyon trees. Turning into Liliuokalani Gardens, Coconut island and the bridge to it come into view. Then you can see Hilo across Hilo Bay with Mauna Kea above it in the distance, past the Nihon Cultural Museum and Restaurant and Suisan's fish shop to the end which is the entrance of the Wailoa river.

The Hilo Orchid society had their show in August. The flowers were gorgeous.

About Us

We moved to Hawaii from Silicon Valley to downsize and slow down the pace of our life. We picked the Big Island of Hawaii because of its diversity of land, people, weather, and culture. There are so many lovely places to live on the Big Island but Hilo has the most of what we were looking for. Now we are living in here in Hilo and loving it.

This site describes our move to Hilo, renting in Hilo, and living in Hilo. We hope it provides resources to others thinking about moving to Hawaii..

We also blog at Hilo Living blogspot.

We have a YouTube HiloLiving site with lots videos of the Hilo sites and events
