MAGIC CAMP III ~ with Bruce and Jennifer Meyers June 6 – June 9 from 10am – 1pm OR 1:30pm – 4:30pm Ages 6 and up // Cost: $85 per child - Bruce and Jennifer Meyers are International Award winning magicians who have a great enduring love for people and the performing arts of magic, comedy and music. All magic tricks, props and learning materials are included. Each day 6 or more magic tricks will be taught. On the final day the children will perform for their families. The camp emphasizes goal achievement, self- esteem building, fun positive attitudes, poise, confidence-building and team work!

2016 Kamehameha Festival Schedule Coconut Island (Mokuola) Hilo Saturday June 11 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Sean Robbins concert on June 18 at 7PM. Born and raised in Puna, Sean has learned from the best, the Keli’iho’omalu family and slack key master Cyril Pahinui. Now Sean’s Hawaiian language songs and haunting falsetto paired with precise slack key picking are making him a master in his own right.

Family activities around the Hilo Bayfront, including games, cook-offs, music and more. Hawai`i County Band concert at Mo`oheau Bandstand at 7pm, followed by fireworks at 8pm over Hilo Bay

HILO TRIATHLON - Inaugural Olympic distance triathlon at James Kealoha Beach Park in Hilo. 1500 meter swim, 40km bike, 10km run. July 10 7:00 AM at James Kealoha Beach Park, Hilo.  hilotriathlon.org

CIRCUS CAMP ~ with The Hiccup Circus July 11 – July 15; Times (by age group): 10am – 12pm, Ages 7 – 11 // 1pm – 3pm, Ages 12 – 17 Cost: $85 per child. Learn juggling, unicycling, ball walking, balloon twisting, stilt walking and more from the experts who have been teaching kids circus skills for over 30 years. This great confidence boosting program will offer a final day performance for participants’ families.

Hilo Farmer's Market is open every day 7AM-4PM downtown and has numerous special events and performances. Every Wednesday and Saturday 6AM-4PM over 200 local farmers and craftsman fill the market. Check their website for the Second-hand Sundays and Market Music schedules.

Hilo Woman's Club is a community service organization committed to assisting and educating its members in the areas of civic and personal interest. The club has regular meetings and special events.

A Hilo Running group meets every Wednesday at 5:00pm and every Saturday at 6:30. They start and end the run from the Big Island Running Company on Hilo Bayfront at 308 Kamehameha Ave, Suite 105 - two doors down from Cafe Pesto. Runners and walkers of all levels are welcome.

Create your own TV shows with Nā Leo ʻO Hawaiʻi Video Production Training. Nā Leo ʻO Hawaiʻi, will help you put together your television show and broadcast it on cable channel 53 or 54. Nā Leo ʻO Hawaiʻi offers classes in basic video production, camera operation, editing, lighting and studio production. A minimal charge applies for the training, but once you’re a certified producer at Nā Leo O Hawaiʻi, use of the television equipment and facilities are FREE!
The first class, Orientation (normally 2 hours), is held on the first Wednesday of every month at 5:30 p.m. in Hilo and Kona. Additional classes including Video Production Basics, Camera Basics, Non-Linear Editing I and Non-Linear Editing II are scheduled at the Orientation class by consensus of the class. They have Final Cut Pro on Macs and Adobe Premiere on Windows machines.
